Ziggo Sport will lose its Formula 1 broadcasting rights from next year. This confirms a spokesman for Ziggo.
The rates would have risen so much in the past nine years that it is no longer possible for Ziggo Sport to keep Formula 1. From March next year, the main motorsport class will move to another channel.
The rights would go to the Nordic Entertainment Group, which would deposit about 30 million euros for it. The spokesman for Ziggo Sport could not confirm that.
It is still unclear what the consequences will be for the viewers of Formula 1.
