YouTube Announces Music Streaming Service Youtube Music. YouTube Music is available in both a paid and a free version. The service does not appear promptly in the Netherlands.

YouTube proclaimed the new music service in a blog post.

YouTube Music already existed as a mobile app for American users. They could use the video library from YouTube.

According to YouTube, there are remixes, music videos, covers and live recordings on the new service alongside “millions of songs and playlists”.

Also, the offer is “personalised for the user”, based on listening history and location. Also allows the service to provide solid music if YouTube Music recognises that the user is in the gym.

Paid version
YouTube Music will be available as a free version. Besides, there is a paid variant of $ 9.99 per month, called YouTube Music Premium. There is no advertisements and music can be downloaded and played in the background.

The new music service is going to release on May 22 in the United States, Australia, New Zealand and Mexico. Later, other countries will be added to this, although it’s not confirmed yet when YouTube Music will be available in the Netherlands.

The blog post says that nothing changes to Google Play Music. “You keep access to purchased music, uploads and playlists as always.”

YouTube Premium
Google also declared YouTube Premium, which will replace YouTube Red. For new customers,

such a Premium subscription will cost $ 11.99 per month. Users can access the music service and can also watch exclusive YouTube series.
