This year, the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) will not be held with an audience due to the coronavirus. In the US there are many infections due to the omicron variant.

The organization says it does not yet know whether a digital event will take its place. Last year there was.

Many new games are launched at the annual trade fair for the computer game industry. The next edition of E3 would not take place until June. “However, due to ongoing health risks and their potential impact on the safety of exhibitors and visitors, E3 2022 will be held without an audience,” said the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) organizer.

The fair is normally always held in Los Angeles, California. E3 was first hosted in 1995.

Other US events scheduled to be held this year have also been cut, cancelled or postponed. This applies to the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the award show of the Grammys (the country’s most important music awards) and the renowned Sundance Film Festival.
