Austrian Government Announces Full Lockdown and Mandatory Vaccination

New Zealand Eases Border Rules After Avatar Riot

Foreigners who want to go to New Zealand will soon be able to enter the country again more quickly.

The government has decided to allow citizens from other countries in more cases after a riot surrounding border policy.

The New Zealand government has been accused of setting a double standard because the film crew of Avatar director James Cameron was allowed to enter the country, but not others.

Cameron and his crew flew from Los Angeles to Wellington last month to shoot another Avatar movie in New Zealand. Cameron had received special permission to do so.

The government was criticized by people who did not think that was fair, including a man from Hong Kong who, due to the strict rules, could not be at the birth of his first child.

New Zealand, which announced on Monday that the last patient had been cured with corona symptoms, closed its borders in March due to the outbreak of the highly contagious lung virus.

To enter the country, someone had to be a New Zealand national or live in the country. Whoever travelled together with a citizen or resident could also enter the country.
