US First Lady Melania Trump’s chief of staff has resigned because of the Washington Congress building’s storming by supporters of President Donald Trump.
Stephanie Grisham is the first known person to resign from the White House.
Grisham had been involved with Donald Trump since 2015. He was still a presidential candidate at the time.
After their election victory, she became vice-spokesman for the president under Sean Spicer. She joined Melania Trump in 2017 and became the president’s chief spokesman in 2019.
In April last year, she was put aside and replaced by the current spokesman for the president, Kayleigh McEnany. Grisham then became chief of staff for Trump’s wife.
