Protesters are campaigning worldwide for the climate on Friday. They do this in many different ways because they want to adhere to the corona measures.
Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg called for a protest on social media. “School strike week 110. Today is our worldwide action day, and we are campaigning in 3,100 cities!
In Sweden, no more than 50 people are allowed to gather because of the coronavirus, so we adapt.”
A photo that Thunberg posted on Instagram shows that she is demonstrating with other young people. They all keep their distance from each other and wear masks.
It is the first global day of action for the climate since the outbreak of the coronavirus.
Last year, students around the world stayed away from school to demonstrate for more stringent climate legislation. Such actions are not being held now because of all corona measures.
This year there will be more online events, and the small-scale demonstrations will be streamed live on Instagram.
