Democratic candidate for president Joe Biden has said on Twitter that the United States will again join the Paris climate treaty if he is elected President.

Biden argues that the US will be part of the treaty again on the first day of his presidency.

Biden’s commitment is not new, and he has previously indicated that he wants the US to join the treaty again, which was concluded to heat the Earth by no more than 2 degrees.

Under the climate-sceptic President Trump, the US withdrew from the treaty, which was signed by its predecessor Barack Obama, among others. On Wednesday, the United States officially retired from the treaty.

Trump stated in the latest election debate with Biden that his plans for greening the US economy are disastrous. Biden, on the other hand, states that his sustainability plans will create jobs.
