Apple Has to Pay A Fine of 1.1 Billion Euros in France

Apple has to pay a fine of 1.1 billion euros in France. The American tech giant has been guilty of abuse of its dominant position.

According to the French market watchdog, the Autorité de la Concurrence. It is the largest cartel fine ever imposed by the French regulator.

The case was started in 2012 by eBizcuss, a retail chain that sold iPads. That would have been sidelined by the Apple Stores and two competing electronics chains.

eBizcuss says, among other things, that the company had to wait much longer for new models.

The two chains, Ingram Micro and Tech Data, were fined 76.1 million euros and 62.9 million euros respectively.
